Awakening is the first step towards learning about the world. We must awaken the natural curiosity of our children and nurture their intrinsic motivation to solve problems. Kingston Private School can provide children their very first moment of awakening.
Kingston Private School is a 21st century forward thinking G1-G12 school which incorporates the spirit of Humanism into its learning method. At Kingston, we hope our students can acquire essential knowledge and develop necessary in-demand tools and skills for the world of the future, and form good habits through learning. All of this will help them on their journey after self-awakening.
As well as these basic skills and foundations, the program at Kingston includes the following elements: the development of critical thinking and analytical skills, the practice of the 7 habits of highly effective people, the development of skills to articulate ideas in debates, data compilation and integration, learning skills to conduct research and gather information, and the identification of required project resources to complete tasks.
In addition, it is a crucial mission for educators in Kingston to nurture children’s creativity whilst preserving their originality and ingenuity. We look forward to broadening children’s horizons by building an environment where children can be inspired by new ideas, create new products and form new viewpoints. In such a learning environment, children will have opportunities to learn from mistakes, improve and look forward, thus stimulating their creativity and originality in the long term.
Kingston is the first “Sharestart School” in Taiwan. Mr. Chang Huei Cheng, founder of the Sharestart Teaching Method, holds the position of Director of Education. He has instituted Sharestart’s innovative teaching pedagogy, using a ‘questions and answers” oriented learning to replace spoon-fed learning methods such as multiple choice questions. Under the Sharestart method, curiosity enhances learning. Through the mechanisms of self-taught, independent thinking, panel discussions, and expressing opinions, and under the unifying leadership of the teacher, students are able to achieve their learning goals in every class session. It is corresponded to the trend of education of elites while students surround in a highly collaborative, creative, leaderlike, warm communication, and mutual respect learning environment, and learn the real-life skills. The role of teachers shifts from imparters of knowledge to experiential learning designers, thus allowing students to take charge of their own classrooms!
Students in Kingston will go through a series of awakening processes. We hope that these young students can achieve self-awakening in this early stage of their life thus giving them plenty of time to develop their potential.
As the first school in Taiwan to implement this innovative approach based on the combination of the Satir and Sharestart methods, we believe that Kingston occupies a unique place in the education landscape of Taiwan and can offer things that no other school can. We look forward to welcoming you!

本校於2020年成立雙語中學部,以培養學生具備21世紀核心能力與國際素養為教育目標,落實在國際語文能力表達、全球公民品格教養、資訊科技與媒體能力等素養的展現。
二十一世紀是個變化莫測的世代,當科技、經濟、氣候、環境、健康…等各種議題成長之速、變化之快、連動之效,正深刻影響著我們現在與未來的生活方式。早在十九世紀的世界經濟論壇中即預測了21世紀的孩子所需具備的關鍵技能,包括創造力、批判思考、溝通合作、媒體與資訊能力、全球觀、公民素養等多元核心素養為主軸。
而這樣的觀點,已在世界百大企業求才的過程中相互呼應。企業所看重的錄取標準,不再僅只是專業的能力,更看重以核心素養多元能力的整合,達到「解決真實問題」的目標。
為翻轉填鴨教育,強化學生自主學習、創新思考以及溝通表達之能力,本校特別邀請學思達創辦人張輝誠老師擔任教學總監,協助師資培訓與專業成長,為孩子建構高效學習且不斷更新的學思達課堂。
過往的教學經驗中,多數都是由老師單方面講述,讓學生缺乏在課堂上主動探索知識、自學與自我表達的能力,離開學校後,如果沒有老師的指導,就會快速停止學習。
為翻轉填鴨教育,並培養學生具備國外升學競爭力,本校雙語部特別邀請學思達教學法創辦人張輝誠老師擔任教學總監,專任老師都由輝誠老師針對學思達教學法專業培訓,為孩子建構高效學習且不斷更新的學思達課堂。
學思達課堂的核心理念為「自學」、「思考」、「表達」,老師以課本為核心,設計問答題啟發學生的好奇心,並利用好奇心驅動學生的自學能力,因此老師必須在講義中補充許多課外資料,讓知識來源更加多元化,進一步培養學生的閱讀能力。
本校雙語部於2019年成立小學部,隔年依序成立國中部及高中部。
